In elementary school, students have a longer concentration span so that sitting down to concentrate and explore a subject in depth becomes possible. The gross and fine motor skills are developed and although the whole body approach is still helpful, it can begin to be replaced with exercises that require only a thought process. Students can be given more independence in correcting their own work. They can be given projects that they have to address on their own like writing an expose about a chosen god of Ancient Egypt or explaining the solution of a given mathematical exercise in 5 different ways. The social learning is ongoing.
